Evelyn Renee O'Connor comes from Katy, Texas, and a day after Valentine's Day this year, she turned 39. She's been around for 23 years in front of the audience in the entertainment world in the area of acting, producing and directing. Her career took off when she was a teen doing TV ads. Teen Angels ('89) got her some more TV exposure and it just snowballed from there. Xena: The Warrior Princess ('95-'01) is what she's most recognized for but she also appeared in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys ('94).
She can name Alien Apocalypse ('05), Ghost Town - The Movie ('07), Diamonds and Guns ('07), Monster Ark ('08), Boogeyman 2 ('08), Words Unspoken ('09), Beyond The Farthest Star ('10) and A State Of Hate ('11), amongst an even bigger list of work. In the past decade, she's been nominated and won awards for her work in Xena as well as her part in Words Unspoken. She wrote, produced and directed Words Unspoken, and produced and directed Diamonds and Guns, an experience which she gained during the directing of few Xena episodes.
On a personal front Renee O'Connor once tied the knot and stayed in that union for 5 years producing 1 kid. Since then, she's been living with her partner Jed Sura with whom she has another kid. Her hard work at Xena saw her gain experience in combat fighting and she can do her own stunts. Apart from being involved with the camera one way or the other, she also took an interest in art and has her work displayed in LA in a gallery.
Her popularity helped her raise awareness through her own organization The Renee O'Connor Outreach Foundation which collects funds and assists those that cannot afford to cover their doctor's fees due to being too ill. She also fights against any form of mistreatment of kids and parents, or any individuals and promotes her work through her own neighborhood and educational institutions.
